Here at the Wentworth we have several leagues and groups that include both our membership and the public. Some involvement in these playing groups requires membership at Wentworth, some require a handicap, and others are just social playing groups. For more information on any of these groups please inquire at the Pro Shop for contact information. RED FOX LEAGUE: A 9-hole league which rotates format between Scramble, Best Ball, and Quota. It comprises of 5 person teams, and plays on Monday evenings for 12 weeks, starting May 13th. This league has been a popular one over the years, and space is limited. This season results will be announced at the Wentworth Pro Shop before heading over to the Red Fox. LADIES' LEAGUE: The Wentworth Ladies' League is one of the largest ladies' leagues in the area. It is comprised of Wentworth members of all golfing abilities who play weekly on Tuesday mornings. The league hosts several events during the season including the Rally for the Cure and the Ladies' League Invitational. In addition to weekly play the ladies' hold various social gatherings all year long. TURTLES: This is a men's group mostly comprised of Wentworth members who play together on Monday and Thursday mornings. They mix things up with some mild competitions and are a very social group. Throughout the season they hold "invitational" events and invite the ladies to join them, whether in the Turtle Invitational or for a Sunday afternoon outing. MEN'S LEAGUE: The men's league is a more informal league than most, comprising of Wentworth members. It is played on Wednesdays, players make their own tee times and can enter into the day's tournament as long as they have a verifiable handicap and play with someone to attest their score. Pro Shop credit will be issued weekly for the top golfers as well a posting of the season-long standings. At the end of the season, the player who has accrued the most points in Men's League will be named champion. |
